This on-line training course is provided by Spirit Healthcare as part of our Pharmacy Diabetes Support Programme.

Our aim is to work with pharmacy to best support people with diabetes.

At the end of this course you will have reviewed the clinical evidence on insulin therapy, be confident in your knowledge of the recommended insulin therapy guidelines, and have gained an understanding of the technology behind pen needles.

This course is for Health Professionals.

Objectives of the course​

  • To provide background knowledge on diabetes and Insulin pen needles
  • To support staff in appropriate review of pen needles with customers in pharmacy to ensure quality and safety
  • To ensure staff have an understanding of diabetes and where to signpost individuals for further care

Process

  • If you have already registered, click the “Login” button and enter your user details, then click the Sign In button. If you need to register, click the “Enrol” button.
  • When you register for the course  you will receive an email with confirmation instructions and account login details.
  • Once you “Login” you will be directed to the Course Dashboard 
  • Work your way through the five training modules  – these will take between 15-20 minutes each
  • Complete the self assessment at the end of each section
  • Once you’ve completed all five modules head to the certificate page
  • Collect your CPD points
